Consistency seems to be the word of the year. We all know being consistent can be a key component to success, but as you probably have experienced first-hand, it can be hard to stay consistent, especially when it comes to your social media.

As a blogger, you wear many hats. Getting everything cued up and posted on time and on a consistent schedule can be short of an organizational nightmare on top of creating recipes, DIY crafts, home decor or articles about parenting.

I have some strategies that have helped keep me consistent on Instagram. I want to share these strategies with you today to help you grow your blogging business and also make social media feel less like a chore and more like an asset.

Five Strategies to Keep you Consistent on Instagram - The Denver Bloggers Club

5 Strategies to Keep You Consistent on Instagram

If you’d like to get organized and be more consistent on Instagram, these five strategies I’ve employed might help you, too:

(1) Use a Scheduler

There are lots of schedulers out there, and you should research them all. The one I use is called Planoly.

On Planoly, you can create and design your Instagram grid so it looks visually appealing and … you guessed it, consistent! This is what our planned Grid for the Denver Bloggers Club looks like now. As you can see, we have staggered our posts to make it look visually appealing and organized.

(2) Mind Your Colors and Fonts

Get clear on what colors and fonts you want to use regularly for your brand, and therefore on your grid. It took us a long time to really take this strategy seriously, but we love the results a well-branded Grid has to offer. When we post something for the Denver Bloggers Club, you easily and instantly recognize it as a piece of our brand.

Consistency with colors and fonts will help you build your brand, and as a result, your followers will recognize a post as yours. Plus, brands want to work with bloggers who look like they have their act together. A well branded grid with consistent colors and fonts can help you look polished and professional.

(3) Use Consistent Filters

Instagram provides so many filters you can use for free, and the choices appear endless. On top of that, may bloggers are selling filter presets you can purchase, download and use in Lightroom when editing your photos.

We suggest using the same filter on all of your photos to give your Grid a consistent and cohesive look.

(4) Stick to a Posting Schedule

You can play around with posting at different dates and times to see what works best for you in terms of engagement (and also look at your Instagram analytics), and then you can use that data to help you create a schedule.

You can set up a custom schedule in Planoly or schedule posts as you go along. I try to stay on schedule, but sometimes I need to post something more timely or on a specific date (i.e. events and anniversaries), and that throws everything off.

The key is to post consistently, even if not at the exact time on the exact day of the week. Have a schedule but be flexible enough to move things around if you need to. Whatever it is, stick to a consistent posting schedule so you give off a polished and professional vibe at all times.

(5) Create Templates

We created a few templates in Canva to help us make the Denver Bloggers Club’s Instagram page shine. We have a template for sharing member features, quotes and advice, and pictures of past and current events.

Your templates shouldn’t be exactly the same, but they should feel connected and cohesive.

Get Busy Planning

A few weeks ago we posted an article about how to improve your engagement rates on Instagram, and we believe a consistent and organized Grid will contribute to your quest to improve your engagement rates. People will come to know and look forward to your content.
